My name is Elise and this blog is my attempt to push myself outside of my impatience and dis-satisfaction with the present, and to revel in and travel the world that is within walking distance.

A friend once told me that he always took his best pictures when he was visiting a new place because he saw art everywhere. How sad, I thought, to not be able to see the art in your own backyard. Unfortunately, I’ve started to realize more and more that this phenomenon is happening in my own life. I yearn for the greener pastures of a travelling lifestyle, of meeting new people and trying new experiences, yet take for granted the experiences already available to me right now, in my own little corner of the Oregon coast.

Here’s to being happier and healthier, right where you’re planted…
